การใช้ Wish (ปรารถนา)
เป็นการแสดงความปรารถนากับสิ่งที่ตรงข้ามกับความจริง
หลักการใช้ Wish
1.
ใช้แสดงความปรารถนาในอดีต (Earlier time)
[Had + V3]
Ex. I wish it had snowed
yesterday. (ความจริง คือ หิมะไม่ได้ตกเมื่อวานนี้)
I wish she had
come to my party. (ความจริง คือ
เธอไม่ได้มา)
I wish you had
called earlier.
We wish he had
spoken to us.
2.
ใช้แสดงความปรารถนาในปัจจุบัน (Same time) [V2, was/were +
Ving]
Ex. When she was at the
party, she wished she were at home.
Now that he is
in China, he wishes he understood Chinese.
They wish they
were traveling now.
3.
ใช้แสดงความปรารถนาในอนาคต (Later time)
[Would + V1]
Ex. You wished she would
arrive the next day.
I wish she
would change her mind.
I wish it would
snow tomorrow.
